Anne Dagrun Sandvik is a researcher at the Institute of Marine Research, with a professional specialization in numerical modeling of the ocean and atmosphere. Her work includes numerical ocean modeling near the coast and in fjords, model validation, particle dispersion (including sea lice as well as eggs and larvae), and numerical modeling of fine-scale atmospheric conditions using the WRF model. Sandvik has an education in geophysics and meteorology from the University of Bergen, where she obtained a cand.scient. degree in 1991 and a dr.scient. degree in 1996. She began her professional career as a weather forecaster at the Norwegian Meteorological Institute (met.no) in 1991, before continuing as a doctoral student at the Institute of Geophysics, UiB from 1992 to 1996. After her doctorate, she worked as a researcher in atmospheric research at met.no in Oslo (1997), then as a postdoctoral fellow funded by the Norwegian Research Council at the Institute of Geophysics, UiB (1998–2001). From 2002 to 2008, she was a researcher at the Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research, before joining the Institute of Marine Research in 2008 as a researcher, where she is still employed.
