Astrid Buran Holan
Astrid Buran Holan is Head of Fisheries Welfare for the ScaleAQ group. ScaleAQ delivers innovation, technology and equipment to customers globally. Her main focus is fish welfare including optimal water quality and farming environment, as well as biological risk assessments in accordance with current animal welfare laws and regulations. She contributes to the company's sustainability strategy, communication and training, and also holds a position as associate professor II at the University of Tromsø (UiT). She has a doctorate from NTNU in environmental technology and land-based farming with water recycling (RAS), and a master's in biological wastewater treatment. Before starting at ScaleAQ, she worked for several years as a researcher at Nofima.
