Hilde Skarra

Hilde Skarra is a Chief Engineer in the Marine and Industrial Department of the Norwegian Environment Agency, where she has worked since 2008 with a focus on regulation of aquaculture activities, water management and environmental monitoring in coastal waters. She has been central in the development of models for calculating nutrient emissions from fish farms and has led inspection campaigns with land-based fish farming, which revealed extensive violations of emission requirements. Skarra is a marine biologist from the University of Oslo and has a master's degree in marine ecology. She is also a board member of the Norwegian Water Association.
