Jonathan Nilsson

Jonatan Nilsson is a researcher at the Institute of Marine Research and has been affiliated with the institute since 2005. He is a marine biologist with a cand.mag. from the University of Tromsø (2001) and a cand.scient. from the University of Bergen (2004), and holds a doctorate in fish learning. Nilsson works broadly with behavior and welfare in salmon in both tank and cage production, development and use of welfare indicators, as well as the effects and efficiency of different delousing methods for salmon and rainbow trout, especially thermal delousing. He also works with lice and welfare monitoring using underwater cameras in commercial settings.
