Gerrit Timmerhaus
Gerrit Timmerhaus is a research scientist at Nofima in Ås, Norway, where he has worked since 2008 and as a full-time researcher since 2012. He trained as a biologist at the University of Freiburg, Germany, specializing in molecular biology and bioinformatics, and completed his PhD developing microarray platforms and applying gene-expression analysis to fish health. Timmerhaus focuses on aquaculture research with particular expertise in data analysis, machine learning, image analysis, and cardiac physiology, using molecular and computational tools to understand fish diseases, stress responses, and welfare outcomes.
